Author photos are invaluable to us in promoting you and your book. To maximize the effectiveness of your author photo, please refer to the following guidelines:

• Please send more than one photo. It is helpful to the production team if you send between 2-3 different headshots so the team can have more to choose from. You are welcome to number them different numbers in order of preference (i.e. Smith_John_01)
• Digital photos are preferable, with specific requirements. Please send TIFF or JPEG files that are a minimum of 1 MB in file size.
• Do not send printouts, camera phone photos or photos you saved from websites. None of these will meet the minimum resolution requirements.
• Be sure your image is not copyrighted. If you must, please get permission in writing from the photographer to use your pictures in our catalogs and other promotional materials without crediting the photographer.
• Color is preferable.
• Choose a professional pose from the shoulders up (please avoid odd angles, squinting eyes and shadows).
• Choose a location with plenty of natural light and a light (but not white), uncluttered background.
