Tara Burns is our print publicist. She sends galleys, books and press materials to newspapers, magazines and journals who might be interested in mentioning, reviewing or excerpting your book. Here are some ways you can assist her in reaching print media:

  • List any and all contacts you may have with people at print publications. Established relationships can be a be help in securing publicity.
  • List any publiciations that you have written articles for, or that have reviewed previous books you have written.
  • Send Tara any articles or article ideas. She can pitch these to magazines for possible publication.
  • Scan newspapers and magazines for news events or articles related to your book's topic. Consider writing a letter to the editor or an Op-Ed piece, and be sure to mention your book!
  • Think outside the box: Love to windsurf? Are you an expert baker? There are publications on every topic, and your hobby may be just the ticket to writing for one of these magazines. Your book can always be mentioned in the byline of the article.
  • Be sure to let Tara know of all towns lived in and schools attended. Local newspapers often print stories about interesting former or current residents, and alumni publications always feature successful former students!
