InterVarsity Press is pleased to announce Parker Hathaway as IVP's new academic and library marketing manager.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with Parker Hathaway in his role here at IVP," said Helen Lee, IVP's director of marketing. "I had been acquainted with Parker's excellent marketing skills before he joined us, and I am thrilled that our books and authors will now have the opportunity to benefit from his experience and energy."
Hathaway previously served as the audience development specialist for church leaders at Moody Publishers and was their Amazon specialist for a brief time.
Sally Sampson Craft, who was the interim marketing director during the search process, said, "Parker's previous work demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning, experimentation, and measurement that fits well with IVP's culture and goals. It was evident from our selection process that he would bring both experience and vision to our academic and library marketing program—and add fuel to our ongoing author coaching and customer engagement initiatives."
In describing his new role Hathaway recalled the words of Luke Miller, his predecessor in this position. "My predecessor said it perfectly: 'IVP Academic is here to help pastors become more thoughtful and academics to become more pastoral.' It's thus my distinct privilege to leverage digital marketing in our efforts to deliver content that is designed to affect the hearts and minds of church and academic leaders and students."
