InterVarsity Press is pleased to announce that Jon Boyd has been named digital communications manager. Boyd will be responsible for overseeing IVP's digital sales and marketing initiatives while supervising the in-house digital communications team. His role covers all aspects of IVP's website, social media, video and email communications.

Boyd came to IVP from North Park University where he worked as the director of communications. In that role he led the strategy, content, design and technology development for the university's website; developed their social media strategy; and led the integration of the university's digital and traditional media communications staff. Prior to North Park, Boyd served as a senior editor at Britannica.com, an online division of Encyclopædia Britannica, Inc., and as web producer and associate director of graduate and faculty ministries with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He has his M.A. in Old Testament and Semitic languages from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and his Ph.D. in history from Johns Hopkins University.

"I am certain that IVP will benefit from Jon's breadth and depth of experience in publishing, in the academy and with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship," says Sally Craft, director of digital publishing. "His leadership capabilities combined with his technological expertise will continue to make IVP a strong and relevant voice as we implement new strategies in the ever-changing landscape of traditional and digital publishing. I'm grateful to have him on board."

An avid book lover, Boyd shares Craft's enthusiasm. "Sharing IVP's books with other readers is hardly a stretch," says Boyd. “I'm excited to explore the strengths and opportunities we find in new formats and media, while keeping an eye on the great traditions. IVP's mission is as important and timely as ever, so this position feels not only like a natural fit, but a sacred opportunity."
