  • Jimmy Dorrell

    Jimmy and Janet Dorrell moved into a lower income neighborhood in 1977 where they have been involved in church renewal and Christian community development. They founded Church Under the Bridge and Mission Waco in 1992 and have been leading these innovative ministries ever since. Jimmy has degrees from Baylor University, an M. Div from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Dr. of Ministry from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Church in Renewal for Mission. Dorrell passion is to motivate churches toward a more holistic missional ecclesiology that offers new life for struggling churches in America. He and his wife have four children and three grandchildren.

    Stanley E. Porter (PhD, University of Sheffield) is president, dean, professor of New Testament, and Roy A. Hope Chair in Christian Worldview at McMaster Divinity College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is the author of twenty-eight books on various topics in New Testament and related subjects, including Hermeneutics: An Introduction to Interpretive Theory (with Jason C. Robinson), and he has edited over eighty volumes, including Biblical Hermeneutics: Five Views (with Beth M. Stovell). Porter has also published over three hundred articles, chapters, and related writings.

  • Spencer Perkins

    Spencer Perkins, until his death in 1998, worked with Reconcilers Fellowship, and prior to that with the John M. Perkins Foundation for Reconciliation and Development and as editor-in-chief of the magazine Urban Family. Spencer was also a founding board member of the Christian Community Development Association. For twelve years he and Chris Rice and their families lived together in the Antioch Community and served as elders of Voice of Calvary Fellowship Church in Jackson, Mississippi. Spencer grew up in Mendenhall, Mississippi, where he was active in the local civil rights movement. In 1996 Spencer received the Belhaven College Distinguished Service to Mankind Award.
