Howard J. Van Till
Van Till is professor emeritus of physics and astronomy at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduating from Calvin College in 1960, he earned his PhD in physics from Michigan State University in 1965. Van Till's research experience includes both solid-state physics and millimeter-wave astronomy. During the past two decades he has devoted a considerable portion of his writing and speaking efforts to topics regarding the relationship of science and religion. Having concluded that the usual creation-evolution debate is the product of serious misunderstandings, Van Till's goal is to encourage a nonadversarial and mutually informative engagement of Christian theology and the natural sciences. He is the author of numerous books, book chapters, and essays on this theme and has spoken at many universities, colleges, and churches. He is a member of the American Astronomical Society and the American Scientific Affililation. Since 1992 he has served the John Templeton Foundation as a member of its advisory board and has assisted the foundation in the administration of several programs in science and religion.

J. D. Payne
J. D. Payne (PhD, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is a writer, speaker, and church planter and currently serves as the pastor of church multiplication with The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham, Alabama. He previously served with the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention and as an associate professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, where he directed the Center for North American Missions and Church Planting. J. D. has written extensively in the areas of missions, evangelism, and church growth and he speaks frequently for churches, networks, conferences, and mission agencies. He is the author of books such as Missional House Churches, The Barnabas Factors, Discovering Church Planting, Strangers Next Door, Kingdom Expressions, and Pressure Points. In addition to these works, he and Mark Terry coauthored Developing a Strategy for Missions and he coedited Missionary Methods with Craig Ott. J. D. has pastored five churches in Kentucky and Indiana and has worked with four church planting teams. He formerly served as the executive vice president for administration for the Evangelical Missiological Society and as the book review editor for the Great Commission Research Journal. He and his wife Sarah and their three children live in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mark R. McMinn
Mark R. McMinn (PhD, Vanderbilt University) is professor of psychology at George Fox University, where he serves as the director of faith integration in the Graduate Department of Clinical Psychology. His books include Integrative Psychotherapy, Sin and Grace in Christian Counseling, Care for the Soul, and Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality in Christian Counseling.
McMinn is a licensed clinical psychologist in Oregon, board certified with the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) and a past president of the APA’s Psychology of Religion division. He has received teacher-of-the-year awards both at George Fox and at Wheaton College, where he taught from 1993 to 2006. Much of his recent research and clinical work has focused on clergy health and finding effective ways for mental health professionals and clergy to work together well.
Mark is married to Lisa Graham McMinn, a sociologist, speaker, and writer. Together they run a small Community Supported Agriculture farm in Oregon where they use sustainable farming practices to grow fruit and vegetables, tend chickens, and keep honeybees.
