    Christopher R. Smith

    The Rev. Dr. Christopher R. Smith is a writer and biblical scholar who lives in East Lansing, Michigan. He served local churches for nearly twenty years and was a consulting editor to the International Bible Society (now Biblica) for The Books of the Bible, an edition of the Scriptures that presents the biblical books according to their natural literary outlines, without chapters and verses. He is the author of After Chapters and Verses; Read the Bible Smarter, Not Harder; and the other volumes in the Understanding the Books of the Bible series. He has a B.A. in literature from Harvard, a master's degree in theological studies from Gordon-Conwell, and a Ph.D. in historical theology and Bible from Boston College.

  • George Eldon Ladd

    Ladd, professor of New Testament exegesis and theology at Fuller Theological Seminary since 1950, was educated at Gordon College and Gordon Divinity School (B.D.) and received the Ph.D. from Harvard University. He also did postdoctoral study at Heidelberg and Basel Universities. Ordained as an American Baptist minister, Ladd served several churches in the denomination. He was professor of Greek at Gordon College (1942-45) and head of the department of New Testament at Gordon Divinity School (1946-50). His writings include Crucial Questions about the Kingdom of God (1952), The Blessed Hope (1956), The Gospel of the Kingdom (1959), Jesus Christ and History (1963), The New Testament and Criticism(1965), The Pattern of the New Testament (1968), Commentary on The Revelation (1972) and The Theology of the New Testament (1974).

  • Darrell W. Johnson

    Darrell Johnson has been preaching the gospel since 1970, serving as senior pastor for a number of Presbyterian churches in California, and of Union Church of Manila during the so-called People Power Revolution. In the fall of 2000 he accepted anappointment to the faculty of Regent College, where he taught preaching, worship, pastoral theology and biblical spirituality. Darrell has authored a number of books, including Experiencing the Trinity, Fifty-Seven Words That Change the World, Discipleship on the Edge, It Is Finished, The Glory of Preaching and Who Is Jesus? In September 2009 he accepted the call of historic First Baptist Church in downtown Vancouver to serve as senior minister. Darrell and his wife, Sharon, have raised four children adopted from four different countries of the world.

He has been in full-time youth ministry since 2000, starting with St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian in Wilmington,NC and now serving as Director of Family Ministries at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, CO.
