Sandra Maria Van Opstal is a second-generation Latina pastor, an activist, an author, and a powerful leading voice on the intersection of faith and justice. She is executive director of Chasing Justice, a movement that mobilizes Christians to livejustly. Sandra’s distinctiveness comes from working in both local and global contexts as a practitioner and an academic. She has reached audiences around the world on topics of reconciliation, global justice, and worship.
Sylvie Vanhoozer was born and raised in Provence, France. A certified botanic artist, she currently focuses her attention on her writing and art, partly inspired by the places in which she has lived. She is the author of The Art of Living in Season: A Year of Reflections for Everyday Saints and The Art of Living in Advent: 28 Days of Joyful Waiting. She and her husband, Kevin, live in the Chicago suburbs and have two adult daughters and one son-in-law.
Paige P. Vanosky is a small group leader and community volunteer. The 30-Minute Bible grew out of her own teaching ministry. She lives in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
Veola Vazquez, PhD, is a licensed psychologist and a tenured professor of psychology in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at California Baptist University.
Prasanta Verma (MBA, MPH) was born under an Asian sun, raised in the Appalachian foothills in the South, and now resides in the Upper Midwest. Her essays and poetry have been published in Sojourners, Propel Women, (in)courage, Inheritance Magazine, the Indianapolis Review, Barren Magazine, and the Mudroom blog. She served as a speech and debate coach for over ten years. When she's not writing, speaking, or working, she's drinking chai, walking, or reading. Prasantalives with her family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mary Anne and Jack Voelkel are longtime missionaries with Latin America Mission (LAM). For twenty years they pioneered a university ministry in Colombia that is a member of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES). For ten years they taught as professors at Biblical Seminary in Medellín. Jack is Urbana's missionary-in-residence and serves as the voice of "Ask Jack," Urbana.org's most popular column. The Voelkels make their home in Tucson, Arizona, and return to Colombia yearly for teaching assignments.
Christine E. Wagoner is an associate regional director with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, where she directed their national women's leadership development program. She received her master of arts in counseling ministries from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Christine is married to Kurt and lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Angie Ward (PhD, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) is director of the Doctor of Ministry program and associate professor of leadership and ministry at Denver Seminary. She is the author of Uncharted Leadership: 20 Case Studies to Help Ministry Leaders Adapt to Uncertainty and I Am a Leader: When Women Discover the Joy of Their Calling. Angie has over thirty-five years of leadership experience in church, nonprofit, and higher education ministry. A sportswriter in a previous life, Angie loves running, basketball, humor, and movies. She and her pastor-husband live in Denver. They have two grown sons and one very spoiled beagle.
Robin M. Warner (MD, University at Buffalo [SUNY]) is a board-certified psychiatrist and community mental health advocate, and has practiced as an attending physician for over twenty years. She is on the board of Recovery International, a nonprofit mental health organization, and collaborates with the San Diego Suicide Prevention Council. She and her husband, Steven, work with churches to bridge faith and mental health. They live in San Diego and have four children.
Tish Harrison Warren is a priest in the Anglican Church in North America. She writes a weekly newsletter for the New York Times and is a columnist for Christianity Today. She is also the author of Prayer in the Night andLiturgy of the Ordinary. She lives with her husband, Jonathan, and their three children in the Austin, Texas, area.
