InterVarsity Press Expands Sales Department to Accommodate Growth
For Immediate Release (May 2006)
InterVarsity Press, a leading publisher of thoughtful Christian books, has expanded its sales department with a newly created position and the addition of a new senior sales manager.
Kathryn Stephens, a longtime account sales executive at Christianity Today International, has joined InterVarsity Press as senior sales manager and will provide leadership to the Noble Marketing Group's representation of InterVarsity's publishing program and account management to several leading distributors.
Darcy Wright, former senior sales manager of InterVarsity Press, transitions to the newly created position of trade sales manager. In this role, Wright will work out of an office in Lafayette, Louisiana, and concentrate on work with CBA national accounts, a limited number of special markets accounts, and InterVarsity Press's alliances with Midpoint Trade Books and Owens and Associates.
Jeff Crosby, director of sales and marketing, says,
"This is an exciting time to be working in sales and marketing at InterVarsity Press with the new level of growth each year and the need to expand our current sales and marketing department. We are grateful to retain Darcy's services in this new role as she has contributed in significant ways to InterVarsity Press's sales growth. As a marketing director, I've been on the receiving end of Kathryn's exceptional service and sales skills for many years. InterVarsity Press is delighted to bring someone with her level of experience and passion for Christian publishing into the InterVarsity Press family."
Founded in 1947 as an extension of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, InterVarsity Press serves those in the university, the church and the world by publishing thoughtful Christian books that equip and encourage people to follow Jesus as Savior and Lord in all of life.
