Zephaniah 3: Better Days Are Coming

WHEN YOU THINK about the future, what comes to mind? Next year? Retirement? Heaven? Escape from the frustrations of today? No matter what you are going through now, you can look forward to some wonderful things, as God made clear through Zephaniah's prophecy.

Warming Up to God

If you were in charge of the future, what would you like to have happen?

Discovering the Word

  • After pronouncing judgments on the nations, Zephaniah came back to Judah. Why did God warn his people about judgment to come (vv. 1-7)?
  • How did the people respond to God's warning (v. 7)?
  • What did God promise his people in the future (vv. 8-20)?
  • What do you learn about God from this chapter?

Applying the Word

  • Which promise are you looking forward to the most? Why?
  • Which description of God do you need to remember today as you wait for what he has promised in the future?

Responding in Prayer

Look again at the sins mentioned in verse 2, and confess any sins God is warning you about. Thank him for what is to come in the future.
