Judges 2:6-23: The Cycle of Misery
UNDER THE INSPIRED leadership of Joshua, the Israelite people marched into the land which God had promised to give them. Through many brilliant military campaigns, the pagan populace was destroyed and the Israelites were left clearly in charge. Joshua had been able to retire with pride, leaving a bright and promising future for the young nation. However, it wasn't long before the golden future turned to hopeless despair. The people had foolishly destroyed the gift they had been given and now they needed to be rescued. It was the first round of a cycle that was to be repeated again and again.
